Every day, I go watch the trains.

Today, on my lunch hour, I sat by the tracks with Catch 22 in my lap, and a group of four year olds with a an elderly teacher came to watch the trains. When one passed, one going fast and loud because it had few cars, all the kids waved at the locomotive, then squatted and put their hands over their ears and yelled and laughed, except for one short little boy.

He started running as fast as he could, trying to keep up with the train on his fat little legs.

He finally stopped, panting, and watched as the lumbering train squealed out of sight.

He stood still for a moment, then turned and saw his class far away gasped, and ran back to them, panting anxiously.

I went back to work, got into an argument with my boss about what day it was, and was sent home.
